About Us
Dr. Christopher Griffin is a native of nearby Abbeville, SC. He graduated from the College of Charleston in 1989 and the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry (Charleston, SC) in 1993. Before returning to the Abbeville / Greenwood area, he completed a hospital based general practice residency at Richland Memorial Hospital (now referred to as Palmetto Health Richland Hospital) in Columbia, SC. Upon returning home, Dr. Griffin acquired the dental practice of retiring dentist Dr. Edward “Pete” Petit and has practiced for the last 17 years in Greenwood, SC. He is involved with numerous leadership roles in dental organizations on the local, state and national levels which include the South Carolina Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Operative Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. On the local level, his charitable endeavors include programs such as the Greater Greenwood United Ministries, Healthy Learners, and the South Carolina Dental Association Dental Access Days as well as participation in the 2010 Medical Dental Mission Team to Haiti from Main Street United Methodist Church in Abbeville, SC. His wife of 17 years is Kim McCurry Griffin and they have two boys Taylor and Tucker. Dr. Griffin is an avid cyclist, hunter, fisherman and skier.Dr. Griffin isn’t just passionate about his outdoor activities and his family; he also takes his profession and his patients very seriously. Though he has graduated from dental school, he still makes it his priority to continue his dental education with an additional scheduled 400 hours of higher learning in 2010-2011.
Dr. Griffin’s practice is a low volume practice and has an endearing and talented staff of three with a combined dental experience of nearly 30 years.
Our Staff
Teresa WilliamsTeresa Williams came to the staff in 1997 as Dr. Griffin’s Dental Hygienist and has been his indispensable right hand for many years. She is a bright smiling face that welcomes you and puts your anxieties of the dentist chair at ease. She has a gentle touch and exemplary skills in dental hygiene.
Teresa LewisTeresa Lewis has been with Dr. Griffin since 2001. She has been professionally and skillfully running the front desk for years. She is the welcoming face and helpful hand that greets you as you walk in, is a skilled chairside assistant and will guide you through the myriad of insurance paperwork or assist with answering all questions pertaining to financial and treatment issues.
JoyceJoyce joined Dr. Griffin’s staff in 2003. She handles nearly all duties past the front desk. The duties range from chairside assisting and inventory to infection control. Her experience and dedication to the job is another reason why Dr. Griffin’s practice is growing.
